It is no secret that many industries have been revolutionized and created through the advancement of technology. The internet has played a key role in the ways that businesses communicate with their perspective clients. Learning to navigate the internet has become essential in today’s marketplace so most customers know how to request service from a company online. The more difficult piece to this equation lies in the hands of the companies that need to reach their customers.
Web design is a crucial component to nearly every business because a vast majority of consumers are using the internet. Customers that are shopping for a good or service expect to see a professional portrayal of that good or service on the internet. Most large corporations can afford to have someone on staff that specializes in web design and data management. Small companies that cannot afford to employ a web designer often hire a company or a freelancer to create their site for them.
Once a company has a web site they have to promote it so people can find it out on the internet. Major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN look at various criteria for search engine placement. The higher a company ranks in the search pages the more visitors their site will receive. The competition for a top ranking is fierce and usually requires having someone on staff that can consistently work on search engine optimization. This leaves many companies in desperate need for sales leads in order to operate.
Each need in this scenario has created a whole new industry. My objective has been to create a website to obtain the leads from customers and then I sell them to multiple transport brokers. I have the time and knowledge to optimize a website to obtain sales leads and I can sell them at a fraction of the cost needed to hire a web designer. Auto transport leads certainly are a niche market item, but there is an abundance of companies in need of business.
Data coming from customers to auto transport brokers needs to be organized and responded to efficiently and effectively. AutoBrokerDispatch.com is a software program that I have created to assist auto transport brokers in their attempts to service a multitude of customers. The software is designed to send an electronic mail communication to a customer based on a response from the auto transport broker. Once the transport broker prices a quote they can send out an email within a fraction of a second. The quote responses are an html formatted email that is professional-looking and gives a very exquisite representation of the transport company.
When selling a car the customer feels the fabric of the seat and smells the new car scent. Selling an auto transport is much more difficult because there is nothing for a customer to touch. Customers can only purchase based off of what they see on a website and in their email. A smaller company that has a really nice representation in these areas can actually compete with a larger organization that has been in business for many years.
Think for a moment about the services rendered by the telephone company. They have found a way to open the lines of communication between two or more parties through technological advances. On a smaller scale I have done the same. My efforts have only targeted one industry. There are many other fields in which this same concept could be replicated and much more money to be made. As the economy is on a steady decline many people are staying at home opposed to going out and spending money. Ultimately this will cause more internet traffic and a boost in business to web-based businesses. With even a small measure of innovation and some diligent programming, becoming a millionaire overnight is suddenly a possibility. Who knows, I may not have to obtain that master’s degree after all.
