Ok, back to the technical stuff.
The Samsung 55 LED TV is 1.2 cm deep and the wick is thinner toward the edges of the panel. Samsung also offers a special flush wall mount to fix the TV set on your wall, and a thin panel to place it on its base, which looks impressive when looking from the lateral. When standing in the front of the TV set, you’ll notice the sublte red border edges| on all four sides of the panel and an outer transparent edge, somewhat thinner than what you find on the 7000 series, gives a precious look to this awesome electronic!
Both the B6000’s and the B7000 series come with a transparent support which keeps the thin panel gracefully suspended above the sustaining surface and gives the TV free way to flip to each sides.
The menu system is the same as Samsung’s models from last year, yet it is “incased” in red borders to match with the style of the TV itself. It’s still one of the best in the field! With high and legible text and lots of explanatory text at the bottom which helps you getting around.
The remote control basically looks the same as last year, but it’s got a new bump on the rear which holds the clicker on a stable and flat surface. With the new model the rotating scroll wheel is not findable as well. The buttons are large, backlit with different sizes and shapes that makes moving around a breeze. Another awesome new feature is the “Tools” dedicated key that gives fast access to the E-manual, picture and sound modes, the sleep timer and the picture-in-picture controls.

Althought these televisions are referred to as LED TV’s, they are normal liquid-crystal display TV’s, the difference is made by the LED’s placed on the edges of the screen, named edge-lit technology. It’s different from some of the SONY and Samsung series which have the light-emitting diodes placed behind the screen.
Compared with the more expensive 7000 series, the main contrast in the 6000 series is the interactive capability. The 6000 does not include the Yahoo Widgets, built-in content, music streaming capability and video streaming capability from a computer. Yet they feature the InfoLink function, standard in the 2008 LNA650 series as well.
The 6000 and 7000 series share the same picture specials, like the 120 refresh-rate and dejudder processor, the only one in the field up until now! They also come with a wide range of picture and screen adjustments in the menu.
You can choose from four aspect ratio modes for HD sources, out of these twocan move the whole image across the screen horizontally and vertically. Also this TV allows the 1080i and 1080p sources to be displayed directly on the screen without overscan – the best option unless you see interference along the edge of the screen, as the case of some channels or programs.
The three power-saver modes are great as well and got my attention for extra energy saving. Other extra’s I’ve found are the picture-in-picture option, the E-manual on a USB thumbdrive and even the customer care screen that comes with firmware version for the case when you’ll need to call the company. Another great new feature I love is the unique among HDTV’s firmware download cappability directly to the TV. I don’t need to go to the web site any more as I had to do up until now!

The idea of a TV that offers a ‘close to perfection’ picture is one that excites me greatly. TV’s are becomming so advanced these days. I need one that utilizes UPnP for content streaming, and I wouldn’t settle for anything less than 1080p on a screen bigger than 40 inches.
